Cast Resin Haast's Eagle Mask DIY RAW CAST (made to order)

This mask is based on the Haast's Eagle, an extinct bird from New Zealand, but can be modded to look like other birds of prey. It is made of an approximately 1/8" thick (at it's thickest) cast urethane resin. The standard casting procedure is 4 layers of white resin finished with a layer of black resin in the inside to reduce the light reflective quality.
A raw casting is the casting straight out of the mold. It needs to be cleaned up: have flashing trimmed off. The eye holes and negative space around the teeth need to be cut out. The occasional air bubble may need to be filled. I highly recommend a Dremel tool for this type of procedure. This is type of modification requires some crafting experience.
Mask should be thoroughly scrubbed with liquid dishsoap prior to painting to help remove any residual release spray. Masks do not include a strap or hanging device.
This mask is meant to be modded or painted. Acrylic paint works best in my experience for painting and Apoxie Sculpt can be used to add scars or other additions. Mask can be lightly carved (it's only an approx. 1/8" thick). Hair can be added, leds, horns… There are so many possibilities!
Because each mask is individually cast after receiving the order, please allow 2 weeks for production. If you would like a different color on the outermost coat of resin, please message me and I'll see what I can do!
